Wolves are apparently pretty hard to see in the park. In this case, there was a picnic area across the river, perhaps 200 yards away.

The dark area just behind and to the right of the wolf is it's den. We didn't see any, but someone who was watching said there were two cubs living in the den.

This is a pretty tight cropping. It was shot with a 70-200 mm zoom, hand-held. After this experience, I have ordered a 500mm lens.
