After 35 year of teaching at San Jose State University, my mom has arrived at retirement. The department would let her keep using the office for a bit more, but they are painting this summer, so she had to pack her stuff out.
She has been in a few other offices during her tenure: mostly in the same building, MacQuarrie Hall, but she has been in this particular office for 26 years with the same officemate, Rick.
It took three of us (mom, Sergei and me) ten hours of non-stop work to pack it up.
