Swingarm Assembly

Cutting to the plans I'd made before the quot;GO DATEquot;, the swingarm came together pretty quickly.br/Since both the swingarm and the A-Arms used the same bushings, I had a precision fixturing bar, which you can see in the background, to align the bushing cups for welding.br/The swingarm was an exercise in frustration: I changed my mind about what I was going to do with the rear axle, and this change required a bunch of welding at the axle-end. Of course, this caused EVERYTHING to go all pretzel shaped. The axle wouldn't go into the slots. The fixturing bar wouldn't go into the bearing cups... it was a disaster... it took a couple of hours to literally straighten it out in the hydraulic press.br/Moral of the story: fully think out all the details before you start welding because it takes longer to fix the problem than to avoid the problem.
